Membership encourages collaboration between leading manufacturers, IT companies and systems integrators on the development and advancement of smart metering solutions
BURLINGTON, Mass. – March 24, 2010 – StreamServe, Inc., a leading provider of business communication solutions for document efficiency and customer experience management, announced today that it was selected to become a member of the European Smart Metering Industry Group (ESMIG). The European Smart Metering Industry Group (ESMIG) provides knowledge and expertise to the marketplace on smart metering and related communications at a European level.
ESMIG members are the leading providers in the European Smart Metering market: meter manufacturers, IT companies and system integrators. Member companies cover all aspects of smart metering, including electricity, gas, water, and heat measurement. These members represent the entire value chain from meter manufacturing, software, installation, consulting, to communications, data management and system integration. By giving support to the European Union and its member states, as well as through co-operation and partnerships with relevant stakeholders, the group aims to assist in the development of national and European-wide introduction, rollout and management of smart metering solutions.
“ESMIG is pleased to accept StreamServe as a member and believe they will add to the expertise available for the organization. StreamServe’s expertise in advanced billing solutions is particularly welcomed, and will help in the development of real end to end smart metering solutions for Europe,” said Dr. Howard Porter, ESMIG MD.
“Leveraging the wealth of new information now available for proactive customer education and services is a key success factor of smart grid. With this information, you can drive energy efficiency for consumers, as well as guide the development of new products and sales,” stated Dennis Ladd, StreamServe’s president and CEO. “Many of our customers are in the utilities sector, so it makes perfect sense for us to collaborate with other businesses and organizations in driving both adoption and new innovations in smart metering. We look forward to gaining much knowledge from others as well as offering our contributions to ESMIG.”
StreamServe will be a participating exhibitor at ESMIG’s “Enabling a Smarter Energy World” luncheon event held on March 24th at EU Sustainable Energy Week in Brussels, Belgium. For further information please visit: http://www.esmig.eu/events/esmig-lunch-event-24-march-2010
