New Report by Enterprise Applications Consulting Outlines the Impact of Integrated StreamServe/SAP Solutions on ROI and Customer Satisfaction

Customers state that end-to-end solutions save them hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars annually

BURLINGTON, Mass. USA – April 28, 2009StreamServe, Inc., a leading provider of business communication solutions, today announced the availability of a new whitepaper by Joshua Greenbaum, principal analyst at Enterprise Applications Consulting (EAC), titled "Strategic Document Management with SAP and StreamServe: Cost Savings, Improved Value, and Customer Satisfaction." Available for immediate download from StreamServe’s website, this whitepaper discusses the overall issue of strategic document management in the context of customer service and customer satisfaction. It also details how joint StreamServe/SAP® customers use the combined offering to streamline operations, improve customer service, support key initiatives such as sustainability, and derive important costs saving in the process. This report concludes with a discussion of the overall impact of a StreamServe/SAP solution in terms of aligning business goals with IT while simultaneously removing the IT burden for meeting these goals.

EAC recently researched the impact of StreamServe’s document composition, document process automation and enterprise output management solutions in the SAP market. That research – which included interviews with multiple StreamServe/SAP customers across key industries such as utilities, oil and gas, supply chain and government – reveals a solution that significantly augments the functionality and value of SAP implementations, while providing line of business capabilities that improve customer satisfaction and retention.

Among the StreamServe/SAP customers interviewed for this report, a major utility company is cited as saving $100,000 per year in printing costs through online presentment and another $200,000 per year in data storage costs per year, enabling them to reduce their total print fulfillment time by 50%. “We used to have to manage dozens of bill templates in the old system; now we use only one or two in StreamServe. This means when we make a change it’s much simpler and more direct,” stated another customer.

The report also outlines how e-billing solutions can contribute significantly to corporate sustainability efforts. Using the example of a utility company with a total of five million customers and a monthly billing cycle, the report states that a shift of twenty percent of total annual billing to e-billing would represent a net savings of 18 million sheets of paper not printed each year. This corresponds to a savings of 235 metric tons of carbon production, which is the CO2 equivalent of 43 passenger vehicles, 26,764 gallons of gasoline, or the annual electricity use for 31 homes.

“The results described in this report are evidence of a unique alignment of two software vendors that together provide an important capability for a broad number of their joint customers,” said Joshua Greenbaum, author of the EAC report. “The fact that this joint capability can have a direct impact on such essential business goals as customer satisfaction, profitability, and cost-savings would be important in any economy – and in the current economic climate, these capabilities are an absolutely essential component of the business case for acquiring and deploying new technology.”

“Joshua Greenbaum is a highly respected analyst and consultant who has covered the enterprise software market for over 25 years. In this report, he offers readers real-world examples of how companies today are achieving rapid ROI while boosting customer satisfaction through integrated solutions from StreamServe and SAP,” comments Denis Ladd, president and CEO, StreamServe. “Through customer examples and Greenbaum’s own commentary, this report provides a clear understanding of how these solutions can be used to improve productivity, reduce costs, and increase sustainability efforts for a better environment. We are pleased with the results of this research and expect that many businesses in financial services, utility and supply chain sectors will take advantage of this knowledge to enhance their customer communication efforts.”
