What is Live-Online Training? Live-Online Training is the newest addition to StreamServe’s broad range of training delivery options. Students join the instructor in a real classroom, without leaving the comfort of their own desktop. Using new break-through technology, students can use our classroom PCs remotely, from any location and still benefit from instructor-led training.
Why is StreamServe offering Live-Online Training? StreamServe aims to deliver training in a variety of ways. The benefits of Live-Online Training are: Eliminated travel costs as well as time away from the office.
What courses are available as Live-Online Training? Shorter training courses will benefit the most from Live-Online Training. Live-Online Training will be available for training courses no longer than one day.
At the moment, Live-Online courses are available for the following courses:
How can I register for a Live-Online Training course? You register for a course in the same way as you would for regular classroom training. Just select LIVE-ONLINE as Location for the course.
How is Live-Online Training delivered? Prior to the course, registered training attendees will receive login details and course materials in electronic form. Attendees are responsible for printing the course materials and reading the Live-Online Training instructions. When the course starts, attendees enter the virtual classroom using an internet connection and a Web browser – audio is handled with a normal telephone conference.
When do the Live-Online courses start and end? In Europe, full-day courses start at 9am CET and end at 5pm CET. In the US, full-day courses start at 9am EST and end a 5pm EST. Half-day courses are 3.5 hours and start at either 9am or 1.30 pm. See your course confirmation for details.
What are the requirements?
- A computer always connected to the internet with unobstructed internet access through port 80 and 443 (http and https). This is standard in most companies.
- Windows XP or 2000.
- Microsoft Internet Explorer, version 6 or later with ActiveX allowed.
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
- A screen resolution of at least 1024x768.
- Live-Online Training uses a standard telephone conference, so a telephone headset or a conference telephone is preferable.
No extra software has to be installed on the attendees’ own PCs.
What is the cost of Live-Online Training? For pricing information, please contact your local StreamServe office.
What is the style of teaching used in Live-Online Training? Live-Online Training uses the same style of teaching as StreamServe’s standard classroom training. There will be a mix of instructor presentations, instructor-guided exercises, self-paced exercises and discussions.
What is the class size used in Live-Online Training? We limit Live-Online classes to 8 attendees.
What will the attendees get to keep after Live-Online Training? All attendees will be able to keep the used course materials (electronic form) and the exercise project files produced during training.
Do Live-Online courses have the same length as classroom courses? The length for a Live-Online course is the same as for a corresponding classroom course. Live-Online Training uses the same presentations, demonstrations and exercises as classroom training sessions.
What about privacy? Every Live-Online Training attendee will receive login details for one separate, designated PC. That PC is used by no one else during the training session and only the instructor can see what each attendee is doing.
After training has ended, each classroom PC is cleaned out, and login account details will be reset, but attendees will be able to download their own project files, together with everyone else’s.
The telephone conference used for sound will enable all attendees to hear everything that is said, but confidential matters can easily be handled using a secure text chat between attendee and instructor.
