Eurofactor is the leader in the French factoring
market with more than 21% market share. With a turnover of €21bn in
Europe, Eurofactor offers an end-to-end factoring service, including fast and
flexible debt financing, guarantees against non-payment risks, debt collection
and account management services. Eurofactor produces between 30,000 and 80,000
pages of documents per day, or around 10 million per year. The company needed a
solution that could handle this workload and address two key requirements:
-
To distribute information much faster than by post, by efficiently managing the
delivery of statements generated on the AS/400 mainframe to the company’s
customer Web site.
-
To archive electronically at least a year’s worth of customer account
history to enable rapid recovery of customer statements.
The most important criteria for the choice of solution were performance and
interoperability. Eurofactor also needed a solution that could generate all
customer statements rapidly in PDF format.
Eurofactor chose the StreamServe Business Communication Platform™ (BCP).
Implementation of this solution began in September 2002 with a team of six
people.
"We were very impressed by the speed of StreamServe BCP. In less than an
hour, all the customer statements generated on the AS/400 were revamped and
converted to PDF format or CSV format using StreamServe BCP. Now customers can
easily access information on their statements, while statements of more than 60
pages remain a reasonable size for fast downloading," said Ghislain
Pineau, Eurofactor Projects Director for ISD Studies Dept.
