1/3 of European banks discontent with IT support

The study was done by the European Financial Management & Marketing Association (EFMA) in cooperation with the University of Mannheim and SAP AG. The goal of the survey was to clarify how the current core banking solutions will be able to live up to the needs - today and three years in the future.

Another conclusion drawn from the survey is that Business Intelligence is a powerful tool for creating higher customer satisfaction. The single largest challenge for banks is the ability to collect and analyse customer data in a way that supports knowledge on, and service to, their customers.

Also important is an increased focus on customer segmentation, for shorter reply times and better service for priority customers, while there is widespread hope for more automatic operations with the help of more effective IT support.
